One more festive event in Kaunas: The opening of Christmas town in Town Hall Square.

On the coming Saturday, the 5th of December, the Christmas Town will open its doors in Kaunas Town Hall Square. In the Christmas town, located next to the main city Christmas tree, a lot of surprises will be waiting for the locals and the guests of the city, which will amaze even the biggest of sceptics.

Three educational Christmas houses that are warm, free of charge and open for everyone will be waiting for the visitors in the Town Hall Square, inviting to enjoy cosy time, to design Christmas presents or decorations, to hear live story telling or to try interactive musical instruments.

The Christmas town will attract visitors by “Map of the Feelings”, which will seek to attract attention to the children’s world of feelings and its diversity. In the interactive sound installation (architect – Lina Mozūraitė, the author of the sound effects – artist Sandra Kazlauskaitė) the visitors will be invited to have a look at the children’s world of feelings: all of the sounds, expressing appropriate and inappropriate expressions, as well as dialogs were recorded by 10-17 years old children.

Best traditions does not change, therefore, as every year in the “Christmas workshop”, the visitors will be able to  make beautiful and exciting Christmas crafts, the teachers of educational workshop will teach to create Christmas presents, Christmas tree and home decoration elements from various materials.
