High-ranking guest from China visits Kaunas

More and more often politicians and businessmen from People’s Republic of China are looking for investment opportunities in Kaunas. On June 3, the high-ranking Chinese official – a member of the State Council, H.E. Mr. Yang Jing visited Kaunas.
During the visit in Kaunas the guests’ delegation visited Kaunas Free Economic Zone (FEZ), and discussed the logistics and tourism issues with the city hosts.
During the visit in FEZ, the guests showed their interest in business activities located in the FEZ and noted that Kaunas FEZ is very similar to the existing SEZ in China. The Chinese delegation were informed about the opportunities of Kaunas City to meet the needs of investors by ensuring the supply of highly skilled workers in Kaunas, especially focusing on the various technology companies working in the field.
“With the team we are ready to create favorable conditions for all investors who want to start business in Kaunas. Exactly in China I have seen the best examples how to work with investors, “- stressed Visvaldas Matijošaitis, Mayor of Kaunas City.
The rectors of universities, who attended the meeting, talked about Kaunas as a city of the high-tech, advanced medical and skilled professionals. Mr. Y. Jing thanked for the warm reception, agreed on further cooperation and invited representatives from Kaunas to come to Beijing.
The meeting also focused on cooperation in the field of tourism development. Also the recent visit of Chinese tourism company “C-TRIP” in Kaunas was discussed.
A few weeks ago Simonas Kairys the vice-mayor of Kaunas City had met a representative of the company “C-TRIP” who was interested in Lithuania and opportunities to develop more tourism products in our country, involving thematic tours: cultural and historical, natural landscape and local traditions routes for tourists groups.
“C-TRIP” company has offices in 17 largest cities in China, selling services for more than 250 million Internet users and travel agencies and is the second largest company rendering such services in the world.
