A cycling path of 5.5 km length was installed within the frame of the project. This path helps residents of Šilainiai neighbourhood to reach the city centre within 10 to 20 minutes. The new path extends through Neris Quay Park, Baltų Avenue and Jotvingių Street. Rest area with benches and cycle stands is installed at the beginning of the cycling path in Kuršių Street. This encourages city residents to use a bicycle as a nature friendly means of transportation, and city guests and tourists – to choose active recreation in the city, contributes to healthy life style promotion, and gives unforgettable impressions to Kaunas residents and city guests.
