Shelters of public transport stops in Kaunas city will be installed and properly maintained to ensure quality of public transport services. First, modern shelters protecting passengers from rain and wind will be installed in such locations where they were previously absent. These works are executed by the company “Reklamos arka”, a concession tender winner, using proprietary funds. The company’s representatives state that more than 300 shelters will be installed in Kaunas city up to March. Totally, 450 shelters will be installed in three years. There will be shelters of the same design in the entire city. More robust shelters will be installed in distant city locations manufactured of special anti-vandal materials.
